Employment criteria

Employment criteria at PSS:

PSS Security Personnel are required to follow and enjoy while ensuring the highest standards of professionalism and integrity are maintained whilst in service for the PSS Clients.

Therefore, all PSS security personnel at all levels are being carefully selected and trained uniformly to the highest standards consistent with the control of possible future threats to any location. Besides the standard procedures for examining the skills of all PSS employees, our most guards and most other specialized security personnel working for PSS have to possess a police or military extensive background, and must pass a security specific background check.

  • Candidate must be 20 to 50 years old, depending on tasks required; However, the establish a requirement that candidates must be of at least 20 years of age for unarmed security duties and 25 years of age for armed security duties, with provisions that the candidate must be able to perform the duties required of the position.
  • Either Male or Female candidates.
  • Candidate should be checked and examined that he or she is free from all communicable diseases and in good general health without physical defects.
  • Candidate should be able to perform physical tasks associated with the guard duties to which he/she is assigned;
  • Candidate should be Psychologically able to perform security tasks associated with the guard duties to which he/she is assigned;
  • The minimum education level should be no lower than that found in the Yemeni general labor law. Candidates must possess a high school diploma. Also, should demonstrate an ability to read, write, and speak English and the language most appropriate to his or her assigned duties.
  • Candidates must not have been convicted of any crime or contendere to a felony or job-related crime immediately preceding a minimum five -year period or longer.
  • Candidates must be a Yemeni citizen or non-citizen eligible under law for employment in Yemen.
  • Candidates must submit their current and previous work and residential addresses and phone numbers for at least the last five years.
  • Verification of a candidate’s prior employment history for at least the last three years must be checked.
  • Candidates that have a former service with formed police units, armed military. Check with all relevant military authorities to be conducted.
  • Verification of an applicant’s name and social and tribal background should be checked.
  • Candidate must be personally interviewed. Reasons for seeking employment, understanding of the work involved, oral expression and general attitude, demeanor and appearance should be evaluated. Individuals who appear to be overbearing, argumentative, inarticulate and present not favorable image should not be selected.

Required Documents:

All final selected candidates must provide and finalize the following legal documents during the selection’s screening process, but documents must be handed over to HR section prior to signing an employment contract with PSS, and before assigning them at any security duties:

  • Endorsed commercial guarantee from well-known business entities,
  • Full CV,
  • Endorsed copies of educational qualification documents,
  • Copy of Personal / government issued ID / Military ID,
  • Criminal background report.
  • Four recent photographs.
